Research Librarians who work at colleges or universities are information specialists who help people answer questions by showing them how to find sources, websites, data, etc. They also typically select new items for the library's collection, and create instructional materials like curricula, handouts, web pages, research guides, and lesson plans. They usually work closely with faculty to ensure that the students can complete assignments and projects requiring research. Faculty may get help with their own research, such as for books they are writing.
